Journey through apple-scented valleys, sacred peaks, and villages where Buddhist monasteries share horizons with Hindu temples.
About Kinnaur
Carved between the mighty Sutlej and Baspa rivers, Kinnaur emerges as one of India's most pristine Himalayan districts — a land where ancient trade routes once carried salt and wool between Tibet and the plains below.
Here, at altitudes ranging from 2,000 to over 6,000 metres, terraced apple orchards cascade down mountain slopes while prayer flags flutter against snow-capped peaks of the Kinner Kailash range. Hindu deities are worshipped alongside Buddhist protector spirits. Ancient wooden temples stand beside colourful monasteries.
